On behalf of former teacher, coach, and UFT chapter leader Ken Achiron, LICHS is pleased to share this year’s Achiron Scholarship information.
This scholarship will award two $1,000 scholarships to graduating LIC student-athletes.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must show proof of college acceptance and enrollment
Must have served as a varsity team member in good standing
Preference given to Boys’ & Girls’ Gymnastics Team members
Must demonstrate financial need based on:
Lunch status and/or other household circumstances
Household income
Number of employed adults in the household
Financial need will also consider remaining college costs after other scholarships or stipends have been applied
Submission Process:
All submissions should be sent to our college advisors, Ms. Christodoulou and Ms. Jeoung. Finalists will be selected, and two winners will be chosen.
Essay Question:
How has varsity athletics at LIC High School improved your life both in and out of school? Be specific about how it has contributed to your academic and personal growth. Are there any additional circumstances you would like the committee to consider?
