Based on the projected bad weather, a winter storm is scheduled to reach our area on Sunday, February 22. To help prepare for a possible Pivot to Remote on Monday, February 23, LICHS will be distributing devices to families of students that do not have a means of accessing Google Classroom (students who do not have a personal computer, laptop, iPad, smart phone or a previously assigned school-issued device).
For families that need a device for their student to access Google Classroom, Long Island City High School will be open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 21. The school will NOT be open on Sunday, February 23.
Guardians will need to come with their students in order to sign the necessary forms to allow their student to borrow a DOE device.

Students who already have a device assigned to them will NOT receive another unless they bring in the old device for a replacement.
Please note that at this time, NYC Public schools will be open at their regular schedule on Monday, February 23. The appropriate agencies will be monitoring the weather and update us all should that change.
Students should already have links to their Google Classrooms as teachers have already shared this information with students throughout the school year.
