The 2025 Summer School will take place at Long Isand City High School. All instruction is in-person, Monday through Friday, according to the following bell schedule:

Per 1 - 7:25 AM to 9:02 AM

Per 2 - 9:04 AM to 10:41 AM

Per 3 - 10:43 AM to 12:20 PM

Per 4 - 12:23 PM to 2:00 PM

Please that each class is a double period and students are expected to be on time in order to engage with the instruction. As per NYCDOE Guidelines, students who have 6 consecutive absences will be dropped from Summer Programs as this would constitutes 12 consecutive absences due to the double period length during the summer.

Wednesday, July 9 - Students that did not come to school on the last day pickup their programs for Summer School at the schoool in the auditorium from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Thursday, July 10 - First Day of Summer School for Students

Monday, August 18 - Last Day of Summer School for Students

Tuesday, August 19 - Regents

Wednesday, August 20 - Regents

Please note that NYU Langone clinic will be open all summer long during regular summer school classes from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Please note that the building is only open to visitors during Summer School days from 7:30 AM to 1:45 PM. Due to ongoing construction, all staff, students and visitors must leave the building by 2:00 PM.

For working papers over the summer, please see the main office during the above hours or call the school between the above hours at (718) 545-7095 and press 0 for the main office for more information.

For record requests over the summer, please email Ms. Downing (click me). We appreciate your patience and understanding as record requests over the summer take longer as we have diminished staff in the building.

For diploma pickup you must reach out and email Ms. Downing (click me) to schedule a pickup after July 14, 2025.

Summer Bridge

Long Island City High School is hosting Summer Bridge for incoming 9th graders as an opportunity for rising Freshmen to get acclimated to high school classes while earning credits towards graduation. For this school year, Summer Bridge students will be attending periods 2 and 3 at Long Island City High School.

Per 2 - 9:04 AM to 10:41 AM

Per 3 - 10:43 AM to 12:20 PM

Successful completion of the program will grant students 1 elective credit in Mathematics as well as 1 elective credit in English!

As these are credit-bearing classes and instruction started with the first day of Summer School, please note the the deadline for new students to register is Monday, July 21, 2025.

Summer School Graduation

August 2025 Graduation will take place on August 28, 2025 at Francis Lewis High School. Graduates should arrive between 10 AM and 11 AM and the ceremony will take place from 1 PM to 3 PM.
