YONDR POUCH PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES
Every student is assigned a personal Yondr Pouch. While the Yondr Pouch is considered school property, it is each student's responsibility to bring their Pouch with them to school every day and keep it in good working condition.
DAILY PROCESS
As students arrive to school, they will:
1. Turn their phone and electronic devices off.
2. Place their phone and other electronic devices inside their Pouch and secure it in front of school staff.
3. Store their Pouch on their person for the day.
At the end of the day, students will:
1. Unlock their Pouch at the main entry
2. Remove their phone and electronic devices
3. Lock their pouch before leaving.
Students must bring their Pouch to school with them each day. If you arrive to school late, you will pouch your cell phone and electronic devices at entry. If you are being picked up by a parent/guardian to leave school early, you will be able to unlock your phone in the office that you sign out from.
If a student refuses to pouch their cell phone and/or electronic devices:
The student will be escorted to a dean’s office/room 178 until they agree to a pouch, and the student will complete their school work for the day in that location. The student's parent/guardian will be contacted and return of such items will take place when the parent/guardian picks up the items from the school at the end of the day. The student will also be subject to the consequences outlined in the Citywide Behavioral Expectations to Support Student Learning Grades 6–12.
DAMAGE TO YONDR POUCHES
PLEASE NOTE: Any device used to circumvent proper functioning of Yondr pouches is subject to confiscation. Any student who tampers with Yondr pouches is subject to the consequences outlined in the New York City Department of Education Citywide Behavioral Expectations: “B28: Engaging in vandalism, graffiti, or other intentional damage to school property or property belonging to staff, students, or others (A–F, G–J only, if substantial damage to school property or property belonging to another person)”
LOST/FORGOTTEN POUCH
The student must complete the Lost/Forgotten Pouch form at entry. The student’s phone will be confiscated at entry. The phone will be returned to the student at the end of the student’s school day and the parent/guardian will be contacted.
